PINASUBALIAN ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na aabot sa National Capital Region (NCR) ang oil slick o tagas ng langis mula sa lumubog na motor tanker na MT Terranova, sa Limay, Bataan.
Batay ito sa surveillance na isinagawa ng Marine Environmental Unit, kasama ng expert adviser.
“Na-observe nila (surveillance team) from north-northeast, ‘yung unang area ng surveillance natin, ngayon ay south-southeast na. So we are not expecting na papunta ng Manila but we do not discount the possibility,” ayon kay Lieutenant Commander Michael John Encina, PCG spokesperson for NCR-Central Luzon.
Aniya, “Ang trajectory ngayon ng oil sheen, papunta ng Cavite and Batangas, which is south-southeast na po.”
Ang MT Terranova ay may lulang 1.4 milyong litro ng industrial fuel oil nang lumubog sa Limay, Bataan.
