HINDI nakapunta si Piolo Pascual sa book launching ng dating entertainment editor ng Tempo at adviser ng Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) na si Nestor Cuartero, ang PH Movie Confidential,noong March 10, 2022 na ginawa sa Cinematheque Center Manila pero nagpadala ito ng bouquet of fresh Tulips. Ang launching ay pinamahalaan ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) katuwang ang SPEEd.
Ayon kay Mr. Cuartero, ilang araw na niyang tine-text si Piolo para sana makapagbigay ng ilang salita ukol sa kanyang libro. “I had been texting him with not a single reply. It was unlike him to do so. I wanted him to say a few words about my book or use on the back cover.”
Pero laking sorpresa ni Cuartero nang magpadala ng bouquet of fresh tulips ang aktor na may kasamang card at sinabing nasa lock-in taping siya ng bago nilang series sa ABS-CBN ni Lovi Poe, ang Flower of Evil.
Bumawi si Piolo sa pamamagitan ng tulips.
Anyway, matagumpay ang isinagawang launching ng PH Movie Confidential na inilimbag ng Ultimate Learning Series ni senatorial aspirant Dr. Carl Balita kasama ang FDCP, ay naglalaman ng mga insight, informative at entertaining anecdote na naipon ni Cuartero bilang entertainment editor-writer sa loob ng anim na dekada.
Dumalo sa isinagawang launching si FDCP Chair Liza Dino-Seguerra, ilang opisyal ng SPEEd sa pamumuno ng presidente nitong si Ian Farinas ng People’s Tonight, mga kaibigan sa industriya na sina Boots Anson-Rodrigong Mowelfund, Priscilla Almeda at Jomari Yllana, Sheryl Cruz, gayundin si Kane Choa ng ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, Unilab team nina Claire de Leon- Papa, Cecile Roxas, Rex Dayao, at Dina Visda, Wilson Flores at marami pang iba.
Nagbigay naman ng video greetings ang ilan sa mga personalidad na nasa cover ng libro tulad nina Charo Santos-Concio, Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto, Piolo Pascual, at Dr. Carl Balita.
“At the launch last Tuesday, I was, needless to say, in my element upon seeing the arrival of guests, actors, writers, colleagues, and personal friends.
“Among them, Boots Anson Roa Rodrigo, Sheryl Cruz, Priscilla Almeda, Jomari Yllana, Anthony Castelo, Cesar Montano.
“The support provided by Chair Liza Dino-Seguerra, her deputy, David Fabros, and the FDCP team, was just overwhelming.
“I was almost intoxicated, though I hadn’t had a drop of alcohol, just a cup of baraco coffee. Yet, when it was my turn to speak, I suddenly turned loose and comedic, which totally surprised me even as it amused and entertained the audience that had gathered that afternoon. I didn’t realize I had that comedy channel in me.
“The lines just kept percolating in my head as I told my audience stories tangential to the 15 chapters in the book,” ani Cuartero sa book launching.
