ANG Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), at Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) ay ilulungsad ang dalawang film projects para makilahok ang mga mag-aaral sa film labs at vlog webinars na hahasa at maglilinang ng kaalaman sa film production.
Sa ginanap na virtual press launch, ang short film lab project na CineIskool Short Film Lab and Festival at #MyKwentongUniFAST webinar series ay iprinisinta sa media. Ito’y pinangunahan nina CHED at UniFAST Board Chairman Popoy De Vera at FDCP Chairperson Liza Diño.
Bukas ang CineIskool Short Film Lab and Festival sa student-beneficiaries ng Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act or Republic Act 10931. Sampung proyekto ang pipiliin mula sa mga kalahok na student beneficiaries at bawat isa ay pagkakalooban ng P125,000 grant para sa five-minute short film na tatalakay sa kahalagahan at benepisyo ng free tertiary education.
Gaganapin ang isang film festival upang kilalanin ang sampung best films mula sa film grants.
Ang #MyKwentongUniFAST project ay magha-highlight sa serye ng webinars na tampok ang mga kuwento ng RA 10931 beneficiaries na magtuturo sa participants kung paano gumawa at mag-edit ng digital content sa pamamagitan ng vlogging.
Ang mga eksperto sa digital contents at kilalang vloggers ay makikilahok para magbigay ng lectures sa mga piling participants, nationwide.
Ayon kay UniFAST OIC Executive Director Ryan Estevez, maliban pag-promote sa mga programang ito sa publiko, ito ay pagkakataon na rin para sa mga baguhang filmmakers na mahasa ang kanilang talento sa paggawa ng pelikula.
“As we take advantage of the various online formats and platforms that the youth can use to tell their stories, we hope that #MyKwentongUniFAST and CineIskool will help us discover a new generation of filmmakers with the talent and voices that we can mold and empower. We thank CHED and UniFAST for this partnership and look forward to giving our young filmmakers the tools and training sessions that can help them produce their tales and experiences of free higher education,” wika ni FDCP Chairperson Diño.
Ang FDCP ay ang pambansang ahensiya na naatasang ipatupad ang mga patakaran at programang magtataguyod at magsusulong ng industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino. Parte ng mandato nito ang mai-preserve at maprotektahan ang ating mga pelikulang bahagi na ng pamana ng kulturang Pinoy.
