‘Love’ sa 1987 Constitution aalisin

TILA walang puwang sa mga mambabatas ang “love” sa organic law.

Ito ay dahil sa panukala ng isang mambabatas sa Kamara na burahin ang salitang “love” sa 1987 Constitution sa gitna ng diskusyon hinggil sa pag-ami-yenda sa salitang batas, idiniing  ang salita ay “has no place in a Constitution.”

Ang panukala ay naglalayong amiyendahan ang preamble, ang opening statement ng 31-anyos Konstitusyon na nagdeklara sa promulgasyon ng mga mamamayan sa organic law.

Nakasaad sa kasalukuyang preamble: “We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society, and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity, the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.”

Ang pagbura sa “love” sa Konstitusyon ay kabilang sa mga panukala ng subcommittee na nakatalaga sa pagtalakay sa preamble, sa artikulo hinggil sa national territory, federal and state principles, general and transitory provisions.

Ang mga kopya ng panukalang amiyenda ay ipinamahagi na sa media habang tinatalakay ng Committee on Constitutional Amendments ang mga dapat isumite sa planong constituent assembly para aprubahan at isumite para sa plebisito.
