US troops pinakain ng sawa ng Pinoy

IPINAGMALAKI ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Ricardo Visaya, natutong kumain ng sawa ang mga tropang Amerikano sa joint military exercises kasama ang mga sundalong Filipino.

Sa isang chance interview sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 bago ang send-off ceremony kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte patungong Japan, sinabi ni Visaya, pareho nakinabang ang tropang Amerikano at Filipino sa joint military exercises ngunit pinag-aaralan ng AFP na bawasan ito.

Ani Visaya, ngayon ay marunong nang magbalat, magluto at kumain ng sawa ang US troops na kabilang sa jungle survival training na itinuro sa kanila ng mga sundalong Filipino.

“It’s a two-way street, you know. We actually benefitted especially in terms of our counter-insurgency campaigns. At the same time, they also learned from our tactical ways of fighting,” aniya.

Sa kasalukuyan aniya, imposibleng nang suspendihin ang nakatakdang 28 RP-US war games bago matapos ang taon.

“We cannot postpone (the war games) immediately because, after all, we are still bound to the (Mutual Defense Treaty). Let us see if it can do in 1 year,” paliwanag niya.

Ngunit pinag-aaralan ng AFP ang kahihinatnan kapag binawasan ang joint military exercises.

“We are in the process of reviewing. There could be changes, it will be lessened,” giit niya.
