UN inimbitahan sa EJK probe sa PH

KINOMPIRMA ng Palasyo na naipadala na ang imbitasyon kay United Nations rapporteur Agnes Callamard para bumisita sa bansa at mag-imbestiga sa mga insidente ng patayan bunsod ng drug war ng administrasyong Duterte.

“Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said the Palace has sent the invitation to the UN rapporteur Agnes Callamard and is awaiting her response,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella.

Hinimok aniya ng Malacañang si Callamard na siyasatin din ang pagpaslang sa mga alagad ng batas upang mas maunawaan ang mga pangyayari kaugnay sa drug war.

“In its invitation, the Palace also urged—and I think it is notable—the UN rapporteur to include in her investigation the killings of law enforcers by drug suspects so she could obtain an accurate perspective of the drug problem in the country,” aniya.

Nakasaad sa liham na dapat ay bigyan ng oportunidad si Pangulong Duterte na magtanong kay Callamard dahil ang kanyang administrasyon ang itinuturong nasa likod ng sinasabing extrajudicial killings sa bansa.
