Amerika BFF pa rin ng PH (Kahit binibira ni Digong)

NANANATILING malakas at importante ang relasyon ng Filipinas at Amerika sa kabila ng mga komentaryo ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte laban kay Uncle Sam.

Ito ang tiniyak kahapon ni US Department of State Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner sa  press briefing sa Washington DC.

Sa antas aniya ng government-to-government ay patuloy ang produktibo, konstruktibo, at malapit na pagtutulungan ng US at Filipinas sa napakaraming usapin.

Habang ang people-to-people ties ay matatag pa rin, ang ugnayang militar at panseguridad ay malakas, gayondin ang antas ng ekonomiya.

Kaya kahit may mga pahayag si Duterte laban sa Amerika o kay President Barack Obama ay walang epekto sa iba’t ibang antas ng ugnayan ng dalawang bansa.

“As I said previously, words matter, especially when they’re from leaders of sovereign nations, especially sovereign nations with whom we have a long and, as I said, valued relations with. But what I’ve also been clear about is from a government-to-government level, or at a government-to-government level, we continue to productively, constructively, closely cooperate with the Philippines on a number of issues. And our people-to-people ties remain strong, our security and military ties remain strong. Our economic ties remain strong. And so, while there is this – there is these remarks occasionally being made, at the working level our relationship remains very strong and very vital,” ani Toner.

Ngunit aminado si Toner na nababahala ang Amerika sa mga ulat ng mga insidente nang paglabag sa karapatang pantao at extrajudicial killings sa bansa na sinasabing kagagawan ng mga awtoridad.
