SINAMPAHAN ng kasong graft sa Department of Justice (DoJ) ang isang Customs police official dahil sa pangongolekta ng daan-daang milyong pisong ‘tara’ o suhol kada buwan mula noong 2012.
Sa press briefing sa Palasyo kahapon, tiniyak ni Customs chief Nicanor Faeldon, may malakas na kaso ang kawanihan laban kay Customs Police Capt. Arnel Baylosis dahil ikinanta siya ng apat na may direktang transaksiyon sa kanya.
“We also have a strong case against one of our employee, the name is Customs Police Captain Arnel Baylosis; four individuals who have direct transactions with him, testified through affidavit that previously since 2012, they have been giving bribe money. It’s called in the Customs ‘tara’ amounting to at least P100 to P220 million monthly. So I’ve already forwarded the case folder of this employee to the Department of Justice for investigation,” ani Faeldon.
Dalawang tauhan umano ni Baylosis ang iniimbestigahan ngayon.
Iniulat ni Faeldon, sa unang 50 araw niya sa puwesto, umabot sa higit P1.3 bilyon halaga ng mga kontrabando tulad ng illegal na droga, sibuyas, asukal at cosmetics ang nakompiska ng BoC.
May 10 high powered firearms nasabat sa Balikbayan box at nahuli ang consignee nito sa Bacolod City.
