ToFarm Film Festival, magsisimula na sa Hulyo 13

NAKAHANDA na ang lahat para sa pagsisimula ng pelikulang magbibigay-pugay sa mga magsasaka, ito ang ToFarm Film Festival na kahalok ang anim na pelikula na tiyak magbibigay inspirasyon, magbibigay-aral, magbibigay-saya, at pupukaw sa mga puso ng manonood at mahilig sa world-class Filipino films.

Ayon sa ToFarm (The Outsanding Farmers of the Philippines) Film Festival, ang anim na pelikula—Free Range ni Dennis Marasigan; Pauwi Na ni Paolo Villanueva; Paglipa ni Zig Dulay; Pitong Kabang Palay ni Maricel Carriaga; Kakampi ni Victor Acedillo Jr.; at Pilapil ni Johnny Nadela ay tumatalakay at nagpapakita sa aspiration at ambition, drama at dream, obstacle at opportunities, tribulation, at triumphs ng mga magsasaka.

Ito ay binuo ni Dr. Milagros O. How, EVP ng Universal Harvester, Inc., kasama ang award-winning film and director Maryo J. delos Reyes na siya namang ToFarm Film Festival Director.

“I have sincere and deep concern for the welfare of the farmers. This festival is just one of my means to raise the concerns of Filipino and showcase their aspirations and that the public will not only be aware, but appreciative of their hard work. Through the films we have chosen, the audiences will hopefully realize the farmer’s way of thinking, everyday living and their vocation which is planting, harvesting and freeding the entire nation.”

Sinabi naman ni Direk Maryo na, “ToFarm Film Festival is the entertainment industry’s modest way to educate the public about our dear farmers and their immeasurable contribution to all our lives. These films hopefully will not only be a cerebral experience but an emotionally uplifting journey for all those who will watch it.”

Ang anim na finalists ay nakatanggap ng seed money para sa paggawa ng kanilang mga pelikula.

Magkakaroon ng gala night sa July 13 na gaganapin sa SM Megamall Cinema 7 na ipanonood ang Biyaya ng Lupa ni Manuel Silos. Dadaluhan ito ng mga kamag-anak at anak ng mga bida ng Biyaya ng Lupa.

Gagawin naman ang awarding ceremonies sa Rizal Ball Room ng Makati Shangri-La Hotel sa July 20.

Ang ToFarm Filmfest ay magaganap simula Hulyo 13 hanggang Hulyo 19, 2016 at ang mga pelikula ay mapapanood sa SM Megamall at SM North Edsa. Ang mga provincial screening naman ay magaganap sa Agosto 24 hanggang 30 sa SM Angeles Pampanga at SM Cabanatuan at sa September 14 to 20 sa SM Cebu at sa October 12 to 18 sa SM Davao.
