Binay camp itinuro ng Palasyo vs Grace Poe

ITINURO ng Palasyo ang kampo ni Vice President Jejomar Binay bilang pasimuno sa pagkuwestiyon sa kuwalipikasyon ni Sen. Grace Poe bilang 2016 presidential candidate.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, si UNA Interim Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco ang unang nagbunyag sa publiko na labag sa Konstitusyon ang kandidatura ni Poe sa 2016 presidential elections.

Binigyang-diin niya na kung nalaman agad ito ng Liberal Party ay hindi na sana nila inalok pa si Poe na maging ka-tandem ni administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas.

“The first time who raised it up was I think Congressman Toby Tiangco raised up that issue. So nobody knew. In fact, we wanted her to be the vice president of “Daang Matuwid” coalition. If we knew already ahead of time, it doesn’t make sense for us to ask her to be our candidate. The thing is there was… We did not know about it until Congressman Toby Tiangco raised the issue, ‘teka may kulang yata rito sa qualifications niya.’ So it was not something that we are aware of,” aniya.

Matatandaan, noong nakalipas na Hunyo ay ibinunyag ni Tiangco na hindi kuwalipikadong presidential bet si Poe dahil nakasaad sa Article VII, Section 2 Konstitusyon na “no person may be elected President unless he is a natural-born citizen of the Philippines, a registered voter, able to read and write, at least forty years of age on the day of the election, and a resident of the Philippines for at least ten years immediately preceding such election.”

Sa 2016 elections aniya ay siyam na taon at anim na buwan pa lang na residente ng Filipinas si Poe dahil base sa 2013 certificate of candidacy na inihain ng senadora noong 2013 senatorial elections ay “6 years and  6 months residency.”

Habang giit ng kampo ni Poe, nagkamali ang senadora sa kanyang 2013 COC at ang dapat na inilagay ay walong taon ang kanyang paninirahan sa bansa.

Kamakalawa ay nagpasya ang Comelec 2nd Division na diskuwalipikado si Poe dahil hindi siya ay wala pang 10 taon naninirahan sa bansa.
