Gum wall tourist attraction sa Seattle

MAKARAAN ang dalawang dekada, magaganap na ang huling putok ng bubble sa Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market gum wall, dahil nalalapit na ang tuluyang paglilinis nito.

“For the first time in 20 YEARS, I’m due for a total scrub down,” ayon sa mensahe sa gum wall’s Facebook page. “Just like you, all that sugar can really mess up the surface of your bricks, er, teeth!”

Ang gum wall ay nagtataglay nang mahigit isang milyong gum wads, ayon sa Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority.

Kinuha ng PDA ang Cascadian Building Maintenance para sa paglilinis ng lugar.

“The machine will melt the gum with 280-degree steam,” ayon sa ulat ng Seattle Times. “It will fall to the ground, and a two- to three-man crew will collect the gum in five-gallon buckets.”

Sinabi ni Kelly Foster, nagtatrabaho sa maintenance company, “This is probably the weirdest job we’ve done.”
