BOC – Post Entry Audit Group (PEAG) is now under the full control of the Department of Finance that will ensure proper revenue collection with a main purpose to eradicate corruption and improve the quality and efficiency of public service by continuously adopting institutional improvement and streamlining government bureaucracy.
The POST ENTRY AUDIT SYSTEM was introduced in 2002 in the Philippines to facilitate trade and ensure proper application of WTO valuation agreement and other relevant regulations in the Bureau of Customs,
the AIMs to facilitate trade by refocusing customs control from the border to the back end of the cargo clearance process and has the a function to verify the correctness of the importers payment of customs duties and taxes. Declare value and tariff classification and conformance with other mandatory regulations, to determine compliance level and collect the revenue due to the government, when necessary.
And now the function of BoC-PEAG is placed under the control of DOF plus Fiscal Intelligence Unit (FIU) to identify potential revenue source and leakages by analyzing data from the BOC and other revenue generating agencies attached to DOF and to monitor their revenue performance.
