Naging bukas na sa kahit anong edad ang puwedeng sumali sa Miss Universe at good example ang pagsali ng 69 taong designer/ actress at negosyanteng si Jocelyn Cubales sa MUPH QC 2024.
Ayon kay Catriona, “I think it’s wonderful! I always love the different stories that come through the platform of pageantry.
“Whether it be as a trans community advocate or now in showing that age is just a number.
“Especially as a woman I feel like age is used to limit us, our potential.
“There are terms that are always thrown at women like ‘oh your biological clock is tickin’ or ‘time is running out’ or ‘these are your prime years,’ mga ganyan.”
Dagdag pa nito, “For me kasi I am a fan of pageantry but I also love what pageantry stands for.
“It gave me a platform about my cause work that is why I wanted to go there.”
Naiintindihan naman at inirerespeto ang saloobin ng ibang netizens na hindi pabor sa pagtaas ng edad na puwede sumali sa Miss Universe at pagsali ng mga transgender sa inituturing na pinakamalaki at sikat na pageant sa buong mundo dahil personal na opinyon naman nila ito.
