Robot na nakararamdam ng ‘human behavior’ sa Singapore

SINGAPORE — Isang robot na idinisenyong nakade-detect ng ‘undesirable social behavior’ ang nalikha ng mga siyentista sa Singapore at ngayo’y itinalaga para sa trial testing sa mga pampublikong lugar gaya ng Toa Payoh Central district ng tinaguriang Lion City. 

Pinangalanang Xavier, ang bagong ground robot ay itinalaga sa mga lugar na may mataas na foot traffic para “makatulong sa trabaho ng mga public officer sa pagpapatupad ng kalusugan at kaligtasan,” ayon sa Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX), National Environment Agency (NEA), Land Transport Authority (LTA), Singapore Food Agency (SFA) at Housing & Development Board (HDB).

Idinisenyo ang Xavier ng HTX sa pakikipagtambalan sa Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star) at ang magiging tungkulin nito ay i-monitor ang mga sumusunod na aktibidad: paninigarilyo sa mga ipinagbabawal na lugar, ilegal na pagititinda, maling pagamit ng mga nakaparadang bisikleta sa loob ng HDB Hub, pagtitipon ng mahigit limang katao (alinsunod sa ipinapairal na Safe Management Measures) at mga motorized active mobility device at motorsiklo sa mga footpath.

“The aim of deploying Xavier is to reduce the manpower needed for foot patrols and to improve efficiency,” wika ng mga lumikha sa robot.

“It is fitted with different types of sensors as well as safety features and is capable of autonomous navigation and can avoid both stationary as well as dynamic obstacles such as pedestrians or vehicles,” kanilang idinagdag.

Nilagyan din ang Xavier ng mga camera na makapagbibigay sa mga controller nito ng 360-degree view ng lokasyon ng robot at makakukuha ng mga imahen at video sa makulimlim na panahon at gayondin sa dilim.

“Data captured from Xavier’s cameras are streamed to a video analytics system with artificial intelligence capability developed by HTX’s in-house computer vision engineers. With real-time sensing and analysis, public officers can gain insights on these behaviours more efficiently and effectively, and activate additional resources to respond to on-ground situations when necessary,” inihayag ni HTX Robotics, Automation and Unmanned systems Centre of Expertise director Chee Wee Kiang.  (Kinalap ni Tracy Cabrera)
