NAKATUTUWA ang ginawang pagpapahalaga ng McJim Classic Leather sa mga baguhang direktor at artista. Isang bonggang award sa pamamagitan ng Get Reel Mobile Shorts Film Festival 2019 ang ginawa nila kamakailan sa Cinema 1 ng Fisher Mall.
Bale pitong short inspiring, heart-rending, at relatable mobile shorts entries na binuo sa pamamagitan ng smartphones ang naglaban-laban para sa iba’t ibang kategorya ng festival. Ang tema nito’y Get Reel Mobile Shorts filmfest tungo sa modern Filipino gentleman and the values he holds dear.
Kaya naman ganoon na lamang ang kasiyahan ng festival director nitong si Chris Cahilig dahil matagumpay ang ginawang award at screening ng mga pelikula. “Get Reel is understandably proud to have provided an avenue for such filmmakers who rose to the challenge and turned out truly remarkable and impressive works,” sambit ng award-winning filmmaker na si Cahilig.
Bago ang awards ceremony, ipinalabas muna ang pitong finalists. Big winner ang Walang Hanggang Ligaya Sa Una Mong Ngiti ni Dylan Ray Talon at May Love Life Na Si Pepito Jr. ni Dylan Ray Talon.
Ang Walang Hanggang Ligaya Sa Una Mong Ngiti ang tumanggap ng McJim Prize for Best Mobile Short Film na may kasamang P50,000. Nakuha rin ng pelikula ang Best Director para kay Dylan Ray Talon (na may kasamang P25,000 cash) at Best in Cinematography (P10,000).
Ang May Love Life Na Si Pepito Jr. ang itinanghal na Best Screenplay at Best Comedy, na may P20,000 at P25,00.
Ang Pitaka ni Mark Jason Sucgang ay nanalo ng P25,000 para sa Get Reel Viral Shorts Award; ang Champion ni John Carlo Balasbas Tarobal naman ay nanalo ng P10,000 bilang Best Inspirational Story; at ang Kabilin ni Roy Robert Rusiana ay nagwagi ng P25,000 bilang Best Drama.
Nagbigay din ng acting citations ang mga hurado para sa mga aktor na nagsiganap sa pitong short films. Ito ay sina Russel Ian Paguia para sa May Lovelife Na Si Pepito Jr.; Jorrybell Agoto para sa Walang Hanggang Ligaya Sa Una Mong Ngiti; Jonathan Oraño para sa Pitaka; Marialyn Tamarra para sa Cotard Syndrome; Philip Carlo Ty at King Richard Visto para sa Kabilin; at James Lohoman, Shawn Villete, at Carlo Tarobal para sa Champion.
“McJim Classic Leather presented this cutting-edge event to give aspiring filmmakers a chance to share their content with a massive audience in the digital age where short films have become a way to spread meaningful and timely messages, and mobile devices have become a tool for creating relevant content,” sambit pa ni Cahilig.
Napansin na rin ang Get Reel sa international film festivals dahil sap ag-viral at unforgettable short films nitong tulad ng Bag, Sinturon, at Pitaka na binuo at ipinrodyus sa collaboration na rin ni Cahilig.
