FDCP Chair, nakiusap —‘wag nang maulit ang nangyaring leakage

“SANA hindi na maulit!” Ito ang pahayag at pakiusap
ni Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chairperson Liza Diño–Seguerra kaugnay ng nangyaring leakage sa natitirang official entries na pasok sa 2019 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino bago pa man ang official announcement at grand launch.

“Kasi pare-pareho naman naming inirerespeto ‘yung gusto naming gawin for PPP na sabay-sabay kami talagang magse-celebrate. Sabay-sabay nating ilalatag sa buong Pilipinas ‘yung mga pelikula nating kasali. At saka we have to respect the cinemas, during that time kasi hindi pa kami nakakapag-present sa kanila, so ako, they are our partner in this event, this will not happen if they do not support this. So, I want to give them that respect,” dagdag paliwanag pa ni Ms. Liza.

Na-identify ba nila ang “culprits” at may sanctions ba sila? “Siyempre mahirap na to go through that. Kasi ‘yung iba excited lang. But we sent out a very, very hard warning that if we see anything again, sabi kong ganoon, it might be a reason for us to disqualify them. Naintindihan naman nila.”

Sa kabila ng isyu, masaya pa rin si Ms. Liza sa tagumpay ng PPP 2019 grand launch na ginanap sa Sequoia Hotel nitong Huwebes, July 11.

Iprinisenta nga nila sa media ang sampung official entries sa PPP 2019 na binubuo ng pitong feature films at tatlong pelikulang kabilang sa Sandaan Showcase para sa ika-Sandaang Taong ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

Tatlo sa pitong feature films ay nauna nang inanunsiyo noong Marso – ang The Panti Sisters (directed by Jun Robles Lana/produced by The IdeaFirst Company Inc., Black Sheep and ALV Film Productions/ starring Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables and Martin del Rosario); LSS (Last Song Syndrome) (directed by Jade Castro produced by Globe Studios in association with Dokimos Media Studios and Ben & Ben/ starring Gabbi Garcia, Khalil Ramos and Ben & Ben); at Cuddle Weather (directed by Rod Marmol/ produced by Project 8 corner San Joaquin Projects and Regal Entertainment/ starring Sue Ramirez and RK Bagatsing).

Kukompleto naman sa pitong feature entries ang apat na bagong anunsiyong pelikula—G! (directed by Dondon Santos/ produced by Cineko Productions/ starring McCoy de Leon, Jameson Blake, Paulo Angeles and Mark Oblea); I’m Ellenya L (directed by Boy 2 Quizon/ produced by Spring Films, N2 Productions and Cobalt Entertainment/ starring Inigo Pascual and Maris Racal); Open (directed by Andoy Ranay/ produced by T-Rex Entertainment and Black Sheep/ starring JC Santos and Arci Munoz); at Watch Me Kill (directed by Tyrone Acierto/ produced by Cine Bandits Entertainment/ starring Jean Garcia, Jay Manalo and Junyka Santarin).
