MULING nagbigay ng saloobin ang broadcaster/ film maker na si Direk Arlyn Dela Cruz sa kanyang Facebook account na sana’y ‘di na muling magpo-post pa.
Pero may mga taong kumukuwestiyon at ‘di naniniwala sa kanyang mga naging pahayag patungkol sa katotohan sa nangyari sa shooting ng kanilang pelikulang Bubog.
Narito ang post ni Direk Arlyn, “I promised that yesterday was my last post regarding the controversy.
“Allow me to post another one, not out of anger, sadness, and frustration.
“One last post re this controversy. Promise. Rami ko ganap. Last na ito. Newsbreak lang, may program pa ako.
“A friend pointed out to me that not all directors are on my side. I do not have that expectation. I am a journalist and I will be the first to affirm their right or anyone’s right to ask questions and seek answers. I do that all the time. It’s my life. Araw-araw sinasabi ko, bayang nagtatanong, mamamayang nag-uusisa sa programang Banner Story on Inquirer Radio 990 AM. Bakit ko sila pipigilang magtanong? Bakit sasama ang loob ko?
“Sa mga nakakilala sa akin, tunay na nakakakilala sa akin, hindi kailangan ng paliwanag. But this has become a very public issue that as a journalist and a filmmaker, I feel it is my obligation to expound on my side not to sway unbelievers. Hindi ito sa pula o sa puti. Hindi ito sabong. Hindi ito sugal na may tatayaan.
“Hindi ako nagsusugal. Hindi ganoon ang utak ko at pagkatao ko.
“What matters most is that everyone present on that set for that particular scene knew what happened and why it happened. Alam namin kung bakit walang kable, walang monitor, walang ibang tao sa loob ng cargo container para sa mahalagang eksenang iyon. At lalong hindi lang sina Ping at Baron ang nasa loob ng cargo container na iyon. May apat na iba pa. Maniwala kayo sa akin, kay Ping Medina, o kay Baron…it doesn’t matter.
“Alam namin kung ano ang nangyari sa eksenang iyon, na ang katotohanan, karugtong ng pinagtimpiang mga pangyayari sa kabuuan ng araw na iyon.
“No one gave him any permission to do what he did. I did not.
“What he did was his own twisted interpretation of the character assigned to him, which I explained to him and even demonstrated over and over, off the set and on the set—to prep him for that important scene.
“He was concerned and restless, asking everyone, and even to Ping’s face if Ping was bida. That’s where the inappropriate and surprise act came from. He wanted to eclipse the portrayal of Ping with the character assigned to him. It did not work, an insecurity that manifested in that one act of betrayal of trust and respect that I gave him.
“After repeatedly reviewing in my mind the events of that entire day—I believe now that it’s even part of his plan to mess with that scene so that we could not use it for the film and that the brilliant portrayal of Ping will not be seen. He knew that it would require another shooting day to re-shoot everything and he knew, as every independent filmmaker knew, can cost a lot.
“Baron knew all these would be the end result of his surprise act.
“And I just realized, he has a movie coming out, that social experiment between him and Kiko Matos—the hamunan which we all believed to be true but was part of a documentary film pala. The only truth about that episode was the fight between them inside the ring. Everything else was planned. He was part of that scripted public brawl. And he is due to release a book.
“Gusto kong magmura. Ang sarap-sarao magmura ng pagkalutong-lutong. Nagamit kami sa promotion!
“Kami ba ang makikinabang sa lahat ng ito? Siya lang.
“But know this. Kung sino kami bago mo ginawa ang ginawa mo, mananatili kaming ganun.

“Sincerely, a public appeal to his relatives. Ipagamot ninyo na si Baron. Sa mga matagal na niyang kaibigan, tulungan ninyo na. Iba na ang utak niya. Alcohol and anti-depressant pills and God knows what else he’s taking…He needs help. Hindi niya kami tunay na nasaktan kung inaakala niya.
