Emma Cordero, swak sa advocacy bilang Woman of the Universe 2016

KILALA si Ema Cordero bilang singer na tinaguriang Asia’s Princess of Songs. Pero bihira lang ang nakaka-alam na dati siyan cancer survivor at dahil dito’y may mga kabataan siyang pinaaral sa ipinatayong eskuwelahan sa San Pedro Laguna, ang Our Lady of Fatima de San Pedro School. Sa ngayon, may scholars siya sa high school at college.

Pero bukod sa pagiging singer, ngayon ay beauty title holder na rin siya. Matapos tanghaling Mrs. Southwest Asia at naging kinatawan ng bansa, nanalo naman siya bilang Woman of the Universe 2016. Ang pageant ay ginanap recently sa Nansha Stadium, Guangzhou, China at nilahukan ng 72 married women sa buong mundo.

Swak ang kanyang advocacy sa theme ng pageant na “Domestic violence and reflection over children.”

Thankful si Ms. Emma sa suporta ng kanyang pamilya at mga kaibigan sa natamong karangalan. “They are all very happy and supportive especially now that I have the crown, this important sub title as a mother and as a woman of the universe,” saad niya.

Dagdag pa ng singer, “Also, I hink all of us are deserving to win the title. But my edge over other candidates is that I can sing and belt my way through the heart of the judges.”

Ano ang na-feel niya nang manalo sa China? “Noong una natulala ako sa tuwa. Hanggang ngayon talagang pagpapasalamat sa Panginoon, kay Lord, ang nasa isip ko. I am so happy and lucky woman, salamat sa Almighty God who allowed me to win this title, Woman of the Universe. Because He saw the sincerity of my intentions in joining this pageant.  Likewise, I’d like to thank the people who believe in my charity works for the less fortunate and underprivileged children.”

Paano mo planong tulungan ang mga kababaihang biktima ng domestic violence?

Sagot niya, “How could I contribute in strengthening the crusade against domestic violence? I could organize seminars and forums for women to awaken their consciousness on the evil of violence, to be able to protect themselves and their children. I could support crisis centers for women and children. I could help provide legal assistance and so forth,” saad pa niya na idinagdag pang kasama ng priority niya ngayon bilang singer ang duties and responsibilities bilang Woman of the Universe.
