NANG mabuntis ang photographer na si Alexandra Sophie, nagbago ang kanyang pananaw sa kanyang katawan.
“I felt like a seed was planted in a personal garden,” paliwanag niya sa email sa Huffington Post, “and it was growing each day until the clock would ring and the baby would know when he is ready to see the world.”
“More unimaginable yet was the fact that such a miracle, at once surreal and commonplace, was happening so many times a day on all corners of the earth,” ayon sa UNICEF, tinatayang 353,000 sanggol ang isinisilang kada araw sa buong mundo.
Naging inspirasyon ang kakayahan ng kanyang sariling katawan, kasama ng maraming kababaihan, sinimulan ni Sophie ang photography series na pinamagatang “Blooming Garden.”
“At first, I simply wanted [the project] to depict my personal feelings,” pahayag ni Sophie. “Not especially to share with the world but simply with my family or husband, so they could understand and see a bit of what I felt. Later, when the series took shape, it became [apparent] that it was, simply, an homage to all women and how amazing we are!”
“It came all naturally, I didn’t have to overthink,” dagdag ni Sophie.
