IPINALIWANAG ng Malacañang official kahapon, ang sinabi ni PNP chief, Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa na naghihikayat sa drug addicts na patayin at sunugin ang bahay ng drug lords, ay ‘drama’ at ‘golpe de gulat’ lamang.
“Hindi naman siya nagte-threaten, drama lang iyon. Alam mo naman ang mga Filipino, kung walang golpe de gulat, hindi naman tayo… golpe de gulat lang iyon,” giit ni Chief Presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo.
Samantala, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella, ang pahayag na ito ni Dela Rosa ay babala lamang sa panahon ng krisis.
“You know the reason why perhaps people have not fully appreciated how deeply the spread of the drug menace is because it’s only now that it’s being revealed. For the longest time, it was either ignored or not attended to and so people are not aware of the depths, it’s only now. And that’s why he’s making a large, loud call,” pahayag ni Abella sa press briefing nitong Biyernes.
“So even that, I would say, is a call. It’s not an incitement to kill. It’s a warning, it’s a heads up,” aniya.
Dagdag ni Panelo, walang legal implications laban sa PNP chief hangga’t hindi niya ito ginagawa. “You may have the worst of intentions, of criminal intent, if you do not do that, there is no crime,” aniya.
