Another presscon for bloggers followed in the afternoon.
Pati Kapuso executives nag-walk-out daw…
65th ANNIVERSARY CELEB NG GMA, INALISAN NG TAO
How sad!
And what’s funny is that pati raw dalawang executives ng Siete ay nag-walkout na rin.
“This is actually the second time. The local government commissioned it for the 70th anniversary of Quezon in 2009. We all know what happened in 2009. We had Ondoy, we had calamities, so it had to be toned down because of the calamity. This play was shown just once at PETA. We thought that people should know about it and appreciate it. This is a new staging, bigger, better perspective,” paliwanag sa amin ni Regina Samson, Communication Coordination Head from the Office of Mayor Herbert.
Anyway, sabi ni Maricel Ticar Santos, executive producer of Full House Asia Productions, Inc. which is producing the play, they did it on purpose.
“It’s contemporary because the setting is modern contemporary. They were asked to write something about MLQ. Siyempre, when you write about MLQ, they have to research and they found out things about him and while they were researching, parang ‘yung thought bubble nila, habang binabasa nila, it is being depicted on stage noong time na ‘yon. It’s like juxtaposition. Ganoon ang approach niya to make it more interesting to the students,” paliwanag niya.
Si Arnold Reyes ang gaganap bilang Manuel L. Quezon (alternate niya si Gian Magdangal) and Chinie Concepcion as Aurora Quezon. Ipalalabas ito sa KIA Theater sa Cubao on Aug 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28.
