HINDI pinasok ni Aicelle Santos ang theater all because she wants to expand as an artist.
“Nagsama-sama na lang yata ang panahon. There was one time in my life…it’s really personal na sabi ko I need to do something with my family. Ang inspiration ko really came when my sister was diagnosed with cancer. She was very young. Nandoon ka sa time na, ‘ok, you’ve got to do something,’” chika ni Aicelle sa presscon ng kanyang first solo concert sa Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), February 25.
“Nag-try lang ako. Ang unang audition ko was ‘Katy’. I got the lead. Una, wala akong acting experience. Talagang tinutukan lang ako ni Nestor Torre,” chika pa niya.
When asked kung mataray ba ang director nilang si Nestor, Aicelle said, ”Sabi nila mas tame na raw po ngayon pero naranasan kong masigawan. Karapat-dapat akong masigawan kasi wala akong alam noon. After that naging maganda ang feedback ng Katy. After that came ‘Rak of Aegis’.”
As to her away with Jonalyn Viray, sinabi ni Aicelle na civil sila sa isa’t isa.
“‘Yung friendship lang naming na we used to have ay hindi pa bumabalik. We say ‘Hi!’ pero ‘yung sabihin mo na chicahan ay hindi pa bumabalik. I have nothing against Jona. She has a really good spirit. Walang etchos ‘to, ha, talagang mabait siya at very talented. It’s just that noong time ng La Diva ay may outside forces lang. Siguro ‘yung vision niya lang ay hindi-ka-vision namin. Kailangan na naming mag-separate ways,” dagdag pa ng Aliw best actress awardee for Rak of Aegis.
