Duterte isinugo sina Bello at Roque sa Kuwait (Para sa diplomatic talks)

IPINADALA sa Kuwait ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sina Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III at Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque upang makipagpulong sa Kuwaiti officials sa layuning maibalik sa normal ang relasyon ng Filipinas sa Gulf state.

Kasama rin sa Philippine delegation sina dating DOLE Secretary Marianito Roque, Labor Attache Rustico dela Fuente, at Deputy Chief of Mission in Kuwait Mohd Noordin Lomondot.

Anang kalatas ng Palasyo, tinukoy ng Kuwaiti government ang kahalagahan ng mga Filipino sa kanilang bansa.

Inaasahang malalagdaan ang memorandum of agreement matapos ang pulong ng PH delegation at Kuwaiti authorities.

Ayon sa Palasyo, pumayag ang Kuwait na bumuo ng Special Unit sa kanilang pulisya na makikipagtulungan sa Philippine Embassy kaugnay sa mga reklamo ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na puwedeng magresponde nang 24-oras at isang special number na puwede rin tawagan para humingi ng ayuda.

“Kuwait agreed to create a Special Unit within the police that the Philippine Embassy can liaison with regarding complaints of Filipino workers which will be available 24 hours and a special number that Filipino workers can call for assistance (also available 24 hours),” sabi sa kalatas.

“The meeting of officials between the two countries likewise saw the release of four drivers. It guaranteed that all remaining undocumented Filipinos (under 600), except for those with pending cases, will be allowed to go home — at least 150 of them will be joining  the Philippine officials in returning to the Philippines,” sabi sa kalatas.
