THIS 2019, Globe Platinum sets out to create an even more memorable Art Fair Philippines by bringing internationally-renowned Japanese art collective teamLab to the country for the first time. With this year marking the 7th anniversary of their partnership, Globe Platinum continues to cater to its customers’ unique passion points.
Based in Japan, teamLab is a collaborative, interdisciplinary creative group who aims to blur the lines between art, science, and digital technology through works of art. Consisting of various specialists such as artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects, teamLab believes that digital technology can expand art and that digital art can create new relationships between people. Several exhibitions they’ve crafted are Borderless and Planets in Tokyo, Future World in Singapore, Enso in the Qing Dynasty Wall in China, and Living Computers Museum + Labs in Seattle USA.
For their first ever exhibit in Art Fair Philippines, teamLab is working with Globe Platinum on an exclusive installation art called “Reversible Rotation”. Through the special work, the collective aims to explore a new relationship between humans and the fragile yet miraculous, borderless continuity of life, nature, and the world. Utilizing free-flowing, cold, and brilliant light, teamLab creates a work of art that forms a continuous whole and has neither end nor center and surrounds the exhibition space. The Spatial Calligraphy rotates in the artwork space, every aspect rotating in the same direction, but depending on the viewer’s perception, it can appear to be rotating clockwise or counterclockwise.
In line with the teamLab’s message on the continuity of life, Globe Platinum helps its esteemed customers create legacies and a life beyond ourselves. Always on the lookout for wonderful experiences for its patrons, Globe Platinum is giving its loyal customers free access to the Art Fair, alongside access to an exclusive priority lane by simply showing their Platinum signal.
