GENERALLY, businessmen are known for calling a spade a spade. As straight as their business dealings are their thoughts and feelings.
Lalo kaming pinahanga ng business tycoon na si Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan who—in showbiz circle—is the man behind TV5, isa lang sa kanyang napakaraming holdings sa bansa.
According to media reports, isa si MVP sa tatlong “nililigawan” ni Vice President Jejomar Binay to be his running mate sa 2016 Presidential (and national) elections. MVP comes in third, nangunguna si Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao followed by Senator Jinggoy Estrada.
When reached for comment, simple lang ang naging tugon ni MVP sa alok daw ni Binay: malaki ang pagkakaiba ng pagpapatakbo ng negosyo sa pagpapatakbo ng bansa. Years ago, umalingawngaw na rin kasi ang tsismis that MVP would give politics a try, but having come from him, now we can tell a fact from fiction.
Of the three possible tandems, nakatatawa ang Binay-Estrada as both are in the thick of controversy na pera rin ng taumbayan ang sinasabing pinakinabangan nila. Ang kaibahan nga lang, Binay is being dragged into an anomaly noong mayor pa siya ng Makati City, while Estrada still occupies a seat at the Senate.
Pero hindi kasalanan nina Binay at Estrada should they gain overwhelming support from their party mates. Ultimately, ‘yung ilan sa atin na hindi na natuto from all these political shenanigans are to blame kapag nasa puwesto na sila!
