Pagtaas ng singil sa NLEX inangalan ng kongresista

MARIING tinutulan ng isang militanteng kongresista ang pagtaas ng singil sa toll ng North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) sa gitna ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng serbisyo at pangunahing bilihin.

Ayon kay Gabriela Partylist Rep. Arlene Brosas dagdag na pabigat ang pagtaas ng toll sa NLEx.

“Any toll hike approved by the Toll Regulatory Board is adding salt to injury as it will eventually jack up bus fares, prices of agricultural produce, and basic goods from the provinces transported through NLEx,” ani Brosas.

               Ayon sa NLEx Corp., inaprobahan ng Toll Regulatory Board ang dagdag singil batay sa mga petisyon nito noong 2018 at 2020.

Sa ilalim ng bagong rates madaragdagan ng P27 ang singil mula Balintawak, C3, at Mindanao Avenue hangang Mabalacat City para sa mga pribadong sasakyan. P68 sa mga bus at P81 sa mga truck.

“A gradual increase does not lessen the impact. It comes at a time when prices of basic utilities and services are already soaring,” paliwanag ni Brosas. “It’s like slowly suffocating consumers as traders will inevitably pass on these additional costs.”

               Giit ng kongresista, tataas ang gastos sa transportasyon ng mga paninda na ipapataw sa mga konsumidores.

“A toll increase, even if gradual, will still burden the riding public who are already struggling with soaring prices. This decision reflects the government’s rejection of its responsibility to provide affordable services, showing a disregard for the plight of ordinary Filipinos. We will file a resolution to investigate the basis of this toll hike,” ayon kay Brosas. (GERRY BALDO)
