PH nag-isyu ng note verbale sa China (Sa weapon systems buildup sa WPS)

KINOMPIRMA ng Malacañang ang pagpapadala ng note verbale sa China kaugnay sa weapon systems buildup sa artificial islands sa South China Sea o West Philippine Sea.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Ernes Abella, hindi makatutulong ang agresibo at provocative diplomacy kaya minabuti nilang gawing pormal ang paghawak sa isyu.

Ayon kay Abella, magpapatuloy ang pagsusulong ng Filipinas sa ating soberanya sa mga pinagtatalunang teritoryo sa South China Sea kasabay nang pagiging consistent sa pagsisikap ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na mapaganda ang relasyon sa China.

Iginiit ng opisyal, mananatili ang suporta ng administras-yon sa mga hakbang para mamantina ang kapayapaan at katatagan sa rehiyon.

”We have issued a note verbale to China regarding the buildup of weapon systems in manmade islands in the South China Sea. Aggressive and provocative diplomacy will bring us nowhere so we dealt with the issue formally. The Philippines will continue to assert its sovereignty over disputed territory in the South China Sea while remaining consistent with the efforts of President Duterte to revitalize longstanding ties with China. As always, we shall staunchly support all efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region,” ani Abella.
