DALAWAMPU’T ISANG natatanging kooperatiba sa buong kapuluan ang kinilala ng Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) nina Sen. Cynthia A. Villar, former Senate President Manny Villar at DPWH Sec. Mark Villar, dahil sa kanilang natatanging poverty reduction strategies.
Tumanggap ang bawat isa ng P250,000 “seed money” para makapagsimula ng bagong negosyo at mapalaki ang kanilang mga umiiral na proyekto.
Pinagkalooban din sila ng customized Villar SIPAG bamboo trophy na espesyal na ginawa ng Samahan ng mga Mang-uukit ng Paete.
Idinaos ang awarding ceremony sa Villar SIPAG hall sa C5 Extension Road, Brgy. Pulang Lupa Uno, Las Pinas City.
Mahigit sa 220 kooperatiba ang lumahok sa “search for the 2017 Villar SIPAG Awards” na 21 kooperatiba ang hinirang base sa effectiveness, significance, financial viability, sustainability at adaptability ng kanilang proyekto.
“We take our hats off to these cooperatives for the wonderful jobs that they do and for all their efforts in helping reduce poverty in our country, particularly in the countryside,” ani Sen. Villar.

Nagsimula ang Villar SIPAG Awards for Poverty Reduction noong August 2013 bilang pagkilala sa natatanging nagawa sa buhay ng mga tao ng mga kasapi ng kanilang komunidad.
