INIHAYAG ni Dr. Milagros How, brainchild ng Socio Entrepreneur ang pagbubukas o pagsisimula ng ikatlong edisyon ng ToFarm Film Festival noong Miyerkoles sa ginanap na press launch nito sa Makati Shangri-La Manila.
Kasabay din nito ang paghahayag na isasama ang ToFarm Short Film Competition gayundin ang pagtatalaga kina Bibeth Orteza bilang Festival Director, Joey Romero bilang Managing Director, at Laurice Guillen bilang Consultant.
Ang ikatlong ToFarm ay may temang A Tribute to Life: Parating Na.
“We were deeply saddened with the demise of Direk Maryo J delos Reyes, our first TFF Director,” panimula ni How. ”He gave so much of himself for TFF. When he suddenly left us, we found ourselves at a crossroad. Should we go on with the project or not.
“But after a lot of thinking, I personally thought it’s best to carry on what Direk Maryo started. The festival would be a continuation of his vision for the farmers and for our film industry. This is our tribute to him,” giit pa ni Dr. How.
Sa pagtatalaga niya kina Orteza at Romero, sinabi ng Universal Harvester Inc., executive vice president na natutuwa siya sa suporta ng mga ito. ”It motivates us further to come up with more meaningful films that, hopefully, will follow the success of our previous entries,” sambit pa ni Dr. How.
Magaganap ang ToFarm Film Festival 2018 simula Setyembre 12-18 at ang awards night ay sa September 15. Tumatanggap na ngayon ang komite ng mga script entries for screening na ang deadline ng pagsusumite ay sa Abril 20. Para sa iba pang katanungan, mag-log on sa ww.tofarm.org.
