NAIS busisiin ng ilang mambabatas sa isyu ng unfair labor practices sa kompanyang GMA Inc.
Base sa Resolution 1893, nina Reps. Emmi De Jesus (Party-list, Gabriela), Luzviminda Ilagan (Party-list, Gabriela) at Jose Christopher Belmonte (6th District, Quezon City), dapat imbestigahan ng Kamara ang reklamo ng mga manggagawa tungkol sa ‘security of tenure.’
Batay sa isinampang kaso sa National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) ng Talents Association of GMA (TAG), iniaangal nila ang hindi pagreregular sa kanila kahit ilang taon na silang empleyado ng naturang kompanya.
Kabilang sa pinagkaitang maging regular ang cameramen, production assistants, editors, writers, researchers, segment at executive producers na pawang talent lamang ang pinirmahang kontrata.
“TAG members alleged that since they meet the four-fold test of regular employment in the manner and selection of engagement, the payment of wages, the power to dismiss and the control over the means and methods of their work rest on GMA, they are for all intents and purposes regular employees of GMA,” ani De Jesus.
Habang sinabi ni House Speaker Feleciano Belmonte Jr., hindi lang ang Kongreso ang dapat mag-imbestiga sa reklamong itong ng mga manggagawa, dapat din silipin ng Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) ang isyu.
