ALAM MO NA!ni Nonie Nicasio INANUNSIYO ng Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) ang paglulunsad ng FAMAS Short Film Festival 2025. Ang Pangulo ng FAMAS na si Francia Conrado, sa pakikipagtulungan kay Direk Gabby Ramos ng REMS Entertainment ay binuo ang nasabing short film festival. “This inaugural festival aims to celebrate Filipino filmmakers’ creativity and storytelling, offering a distinguished platform for short-form films,” pahayag ni Ms. Francia. Ikinararangal naman ni Director Gabby, ang festival director ng 1st FAMAS Short Film Festival 2025, ang bagong endeavor na ito, na siya mismo ay past winner ng Best Short Film sa FAMAS 2024 para sa “Huling Sayaw Ni Erlinda”. Ineengganyo rin ni Direk Gabby ang diversity and innovation at iniimbita ang “finished short film entries” sa iba’t ibang kategorya na nagha-highlight ng compelling narratives, artistic expression, at may socially relevant na tema. “Ma’am Francia always dreams of awarding short films, just like what they do in the main event of FAMAS over decades. Like her, I personally believe that short filmmakers will be the next generation of filmmakers of Philippine Cinema. Likewise, that is also our vision in Rems Entertainment, especially after we opened our VS Cinema in Quezon City. “That’s the reason why we proposed to produce this event,” wika pa ni Direk Gabby. Sa ngayon ay nasa100 na ang natanggap nilang entries at inaasahang mas darami pa after ng kanilang announcement. Ayon pa kay Direk Gabby, magkakaroon ng scheduled screening ang lahat ng finalists. “May VS Cinema (located on the 8th floor of the Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City) po tayo na puwedeng ipalabas ang mga finalists. Pero may mga kinakausap na rin kami,” sabi pa niya. Kasalukuyang ongoing ang submission ng entries, na ang deadline ay sa  March 25, 2025. Tapos ng cinema screenings mula May 5 to 9, magaganap ang kaabang-abang na Awards Night sa May 10.
