MARAMING blessings ngayon ang Filipino-Italian actor/director/singer na si Ruben Maria Soriquez.
Bukod sa pagganap sa mahalagang papel sa “A Secret in Prague” na pinagbibidahan nina Andrea Brillantes at Enrique Gil, may bago rin siyang album. Plus, wagi si Ruben sa Award of Excellence in Acting sa 22nd Accolade Global Competition sa US last month bilang Best Actor, sa international sci-fi/horror thriller movie na “The Marianas Web.”
Thankful si Direk Ruben sa natamong pagkilala. “I’m happy and proud for the acting award. It gives me some kind of validation for a role that I’ve worked so hard. It takes a lot to gain entry, at the very least, you need to know some people willing to back your work. If not, you need lots of money.”
Ang pelikula ay mula sa Italian director na si Marco Calvise, ito’y hinggil sa isang simpleng magsasaka sa Italy na si Fosco (Ruben), na makikila sa online si Mariana (Alexa Ocampo).
Hinggil naman sa kanyang new album, ito ay pinamagatang “Sin Preguntas Sin Mas” at available na sa streaming platforms. Si direk Ruben ay nagsimula talaga sa showbiz bilang singer at aminadong ito ang kanyang first love.
“Nagsimula talaga ako bilang isang musician bago lumipat sa pag-arte at paggawa ng pelikula,” pakli ni Ruben.
Kuwento naman niya sa kanyang new album, “It’s a compilation of twelve songs, 5 Spanish, 5 Italian and 2 instrumentals. It also features my single “Toda La Noche” that would remind you of the pop music of the ’70s and ’90s.”
Anyway, reunion project nina Ruben at Enrique ang A Secret in Prague. Nagkasama ang dalawa noon sa “Dolce Amore” ng ABS CBN, with Liza Soberano.
“Sobrang galing ang team ng A Secret In Prague. The writer is Mark Duane Angos, who wrote many successful shows including Dolce Amore… Ang direktor naman, sina Direk Barry Gonzales and si direk Paco Sta. Maria, is the unit 2 director.
“Ang role ko rito, si Viktor Valtrovi ang pinakamayamang tao sa Prague. Viktor has Sicilian roots and he is believed to be the ruthless head of the Moraviano syndicate. Ginampanan ko ang father ni Chiara (Andrea) at asawa ni Donabel (K Brosas). Ako ay mabuti at masama nang sabay. It’s a deep and complicated character, capable of killing people for small reasons. Pero isa rin siyang mapagmahal na ama at asawa, na tapat sa kanyang pamilya.”
Dagdag pa ni Ruben, “Andrea plays Chiara, my daughter and Enrique plays Mikoy, a hardworking OFW. I am happy to work with Quen again after so many years and I like to work with Andrea as well. Napakatalentado at propesyonal nila.”
