ISANG grupo ng frontliners ang nananawagan sa community pantry organizers na unahin ang pagpapatupad ng basic health protocols bukod sa kanilang malinis na layuning makatulong sa mas nangangailangan sa gitna ng pandemyang dulot ng CoVid-19.
Sa isang virtual na panayam ng Lingkud Bayanihan weekly show sa PTV-4, hinimok ni Alvin Constantino, Confederate Sentinels of God (CSG) Inc. founder, ang lahat ng may magagandang layunin na organizers na mahigpit ipatupad ang minimum health protocols ng Department of Health (DOH) upang lubos na maproteksiyonan ang sinoman laban sa nakamamatay na virus.
“Isipin at pagplanohan natin mabuti ang itatatag na community pantry projects upang tunay tayong makatulong sa mga less fortunate at nagdurusa nating mga kababayan,” aniya.
“Huwag nating hayaang kumalat ang CoVid-19 sa ating komunidad na maaaring maging sanhi ng kamatayan ng mahihirap nating kapitbahay. Sinasaludohan ko po ang ating community pantry organizers. Your hearts are similarly attuned to the hearts of our patriotic Filipino heroes of the past,” diin ni Constantino.
Noong 23 Abril, isang community pantry sa Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City ang naitatag ng kilalang showbiz personality na si Angel Locsin kung saan may isang senior citizen ang hinimatay sa pila at namatay.
Ang Quezon City ang may pinakamataas na kaso ng CoVid-19 sa buong Metro Manila.
Samantala, nagpahayag si Dr. Leo Olarte, Bayanihan Frontliners Movement lawyer-president, na sisimulan na nila sa National Capital Region (NCR) ang nationwide distribution ng mga pagkain at relief goods sa bahay-bahay katuwang ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) kasabay ng libreng 24/7 online telemedicine service (www.docph.org).
Ayon kay Dr. Benito Atienza, Philippine Medical Association president, isang joint Lingkud Bayanihan caravan ang kanilang pinasimulan sa Hospicio de San Jose Orphanage sa Quiapo, San Miguel, Maynila sa pamimigay ng mga pagkain at relief goods sa 450 bata at matatanda kasunod ng online telemedicine services.
“In response to the urgent appeal of Sister Marcelita Catarina, DC of the Hospicio de San Jose Orphanage for food and other needs, our multi-sectoral coalition immediately acted by bringing to their doorsteps today the critical necessities requested,” aniya.
“The PMA with our multi-sector partners at the Lingkud Bayanihan Caravan will continue to push for the Filipino Bayanihan Spirit that is demanded today from all as our people suffers the pains brought
about by CoVid-19 to our country.
“As we (and our partners) distribute much-needed relief to the poorest of the poor in target areas in the metropolis we will again open the PMA auditorium at North Avenue, Quezon City to receive any donations in kind. We will deliver these (house to house) to our unfortunate brothers and sisters to help alleviate hunger during this current crisis,” aniya.
