Mayor Romualdez pinaiimbestigahan ng Palasyo sa DILG

PINAIIMBESTIGAHAN ng Palasyo si Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez dahil nagpaturok ng CoVid-19 vaccine ng Sinovac kahit may patakaran na ang dapat maunang bakuna­han ay health workers.

Sa isang tweet ng Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), ipinagmalaki na nagpabakuna si Romualdez alinsunod sa national vaccination program.

Tinanggal na ng PCOO ang nasabing tweet.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, medical frontliners ang tanging grupong dapat maturukan ng CoVid-19 vaccine.

Ang paglabag aniya sa patakaran ay makaaapekto sa mga susunod na delivery ng bakuna sa pamamagitan ng COVAX facility na nag-atas na ang prayoridad na maturukan ay health workers.

“We regret this incident, but I will refer the matter to the DILG  dahil kinakailangan po talagang imbestigahan ito,” sabi ni Roque sa virtual Palace press briefing kahapon.

Sinabi ni vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, may moral obligation na huwag agawin ang karapatan ng health workers, ang unahan sila ay naglalagay sa kanila sa panganib.

“There is a moral obligation not to deprive the rights of health workers… jumping the line leaves health workers at risk,” ani Galvez.

Maging si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte aniya ay nagsabi na ang pagbakuna sa mga lokal na opisyal ay kapag marami na ang vaccine supply sa bansa.

“Pasensiya na po kayo… nag-decide na po ang Presidente na unahin muna natin ang healthcare workers at sabihin sa mga mayor na siguro ‘pag marami na tayong vaccine, they can start na,” sabi ni Galvez.

Sa kanyang Facebook post, inihayag ni Romuladez na isa siyang CoVid-19 survivor at 50 porsiyento lamang ng Taclobanons ang gustong magpaturok ng Sinovac vaccine.

“Because everyone was scared and everyone was waiting for me. So I did it to lead my people out of fear. And I’m glad they responded positively! NEVER say that I did it to save myself before others. I did it to make the people see that it was okay to get the vaccine. I wanted our people to take it for protection, and so that the efforts of the national government will not be in vain,” ani Romualdez.

Sa Facebook post ng Tacloban City Information Office, nakasaad na ang nagba­kuna kay Romuladez ay isang nurse mula sa Department of Health na nakatalaga sa city health office at sumailalim ang alkalde sa screening at assessment mula kay acting City Health Officer Dr. Gloria Fabrigas.
