SAMA ALL ito ang tema ng PPP4 na 145 pelikula ang ipalalabas ng Film Development Council of the Philippines ( FDCP ) sa pangunguna ng Chairwoman nitong si Liza Diño-Seguerra na magsisimula sa October 31-November 15 sa FDCP Online Channel, FDCPchannel.ph platform.
At sa ika-apat na Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) itatampok ang mga pelikula mula sa Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, QCinema International Film Festival, Cinema One Originals Film Festival, Sinag Maynila Film Festival, CineFilipino Film Festival, ToFarm Film Festival, at Metro Manila Film Festival pati na rin mula sa iba’t ibang producer at regional film festival, ang PPP Retrospective, ang Lab portion ng Sine Kabataan Short Film Competition, at ang CineMarya Women’s Film Festival.
Ayon kay Diño, “This year’s PPP is a solidarity event that aims to encourage support for Philippine Cinema in light of the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It aims to propagate the love for Filipino films among audiences and help sustain the country’s film industry that is gravely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
“The FDCP is glad to announce that all proceeds will be given to producers involved in the festival through revenue sharing.
“This year’s PPP may be different, but I assure that it will continue to celebrate the heritage and potential of our film industry by spreading the love for Philippine Cinema.”
Ang mga section ng PPP4 ay ang Premium, Classics, PH Oscars Entries, Tributes, Romance, Youth and Family, Genre, Bahaghari, PPP Retro, Documentary, at From the Regions, kasama ang Sine Kabataan at CineMarya.
Dagdag pa ni Liza, “Films that have never been released to the Philippine audience or had a limited release in the country comprise the esteemed Premium Selection section. National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik leads the Premium Selection roster with ‘Ang Lakaran ni Kabunyan: Kabunyan’s Journey to Liwanag’.”
Mapapanood din dito ang dalawang classic ‘80s films, ang Batch ’81 ni Mike de Leon, starring Mark Gil; at ang restored version ng Brutal ng yumaong Marilou Diaz-Abaya at bida sina Amy Austria, Charo Santos-Concio, at Gina Alajar along with the late Johnny Delgado and Jay Ilagan.
Kasama rin ang The Helper ni Joanna Bowers; Itoshi No Irene (Come On, Irene) ni Keisuke Yoshida; Glenn Barit’s Cleaners, at Blood Hunters: Rise of the Hybrids. At sa Premium section lists naman kasama ang He Who Is Without Sin ni Jason Paul Laxamana; Kintsugi ni Lawrence Fajardo; at The Highest Peak ni Arbi Barbarona.
Twelve short films naman mula sa PPP 4 section will premiere the final CineMarya Women’s Film Festival, an initiative of the FDCP in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), Quezon City Film Development Council, and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The Luzon finalists are Daadaan Na (Her Walks) by Julius Lumiqued, Super-Able by Arjanmar Rebeta, Night Shift by Mariel Ong, and Dalaginding na si Isang by Nigel Santos while those from the National Capital Region (NCR) are Noontime Drama by Kim Timan and Sam Villa-Real, She’s Perfect by Jochelle Casilad, Hakab by Mel Aguilar-Maestro, and Super Woman by Angela Andres.
Winged Dreams to the Blue Heavens by Aimee Apostol-Escasa and Binakol sa Dahon by Gary Tabanera and Ola by Mijan Jumalon and Adira by Jorzheema Hamid.
The CineMarya Awarding Ceremony in November will give out the following awards with corresponding cash prizes: Best Film, Best Director, Jury’s Choice, Best Screenplay, and other special awards.
