AMINADO ang singer/songwriter na si Marion Aunor na hindi niya inaasahan ang ibinigay sa kanyang task bilang producer ng debut album ni Leila Alcasid, anak nina Ogie Alcasid at dating beauty queen na si Michelle van Eimeren.
Saad ni Marion, “Yes songwriter and producer po, pero aalalayan naman po ako ni sir Jonathan (Manalo) as producer. Actually nagulat na lang po ako na biglang ako ‘yung kinuhang producer for her album. Naisip po kasi nila sir Roxy na pareho kami ng type of music ni Leila. ‘Yung mga gustong artists and sound, so compatible kami mag-work together.
“So far we had a meeting… for the direction of the songs and anong overall sound na gusto niya sa music niya. Then may mga ibinigay na ako na songs which she liked. So, ipinapa-arrange ko na po ‘yun ngayon.”
Ano ang masasabi mo kay Leila? “Leila is awesome to work with. She also writes songs and may sarili na rin talaga siyang preference when it comes to kung anong sound ang gusto niya. So, I really just want to help make what she wants a reality.
“I’m very excited for my new role as producer and hopefully maging successful ‘yung project na ‘to para masundan pa. But of course I won’t be leaving my own music behind. I’m also working on it at the same time,” pahayag ni Marion.
How about si Ogie, ano sabi niya sa iyo? May particular request ba siya para sa debut album ng kanyang anak? Sagot ng talented na anak ni Ms. Lala Aunor, “No other details about the project yet, Tito. I’ll just wait till Sir Ogie or Leila talk more about it hahaha! But anyway I’ll be back in the Philippines mid August para po sa project.”
Masasabi mo ba na malaki ang potential ni Leila para maging successful na singer and gagawin n’yo bang medyo pang-masa ang timpla ng album niya? “Opo I’m sure she’ll be very successful, not only because being musically talented is in her genes, but because she has a fresh sound to offer sa OPM. We’ll try to make sure that anyone who listens to her music will be able to appreciate it, pero priority ko talaga ay lumabas ‘yung personality niya sa songs.”
Samantala, nominated sa darating na Star Award’s for Movies si Marion sa kategoryang New Movie Actress of The Year para sa pelikulang Tibak, The Story of Kabataang Makabayan ni Direk Arlyn Dela Cruz. Plus, nominated din ang themesong ng naturang pelikula para sa kategoryang Indie Movie Original Theme Song of The Year, na compost ni Alimuddin Ariesgado, arranged by Karl Ramirez, at interpreted by Marion.
“Nakasa-shock naman iyan, shocked, confused but grateful ako sa PMPC,” nakatawang reaction ni Marion nang ibalita namin ito sa kanya.
