Tinalo niya sina Davin Sean Romualdez sa unang round, National Master Ivan Travis Cu (2nd round), National Master Edmundo Gatus (3rd round), Woman International Master Kylen Joy Mordido (4th round), Fide Master Mark Jay Bacojo (6th round) at FM Abelgas (ika-7 round).

“I am very happy with my victory because almost all of the top players in Metro Manila and nearby provinces joined the tournament,” sabi ng BS Information Systems freshman sa Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas sa interview nitong Lunes.

“I would like to thank mayor Jenny Barzaga, Rep. Elpidio “Pidi” Barzaga Jr. and coach FM Roel Abelgas for supporting my participation in the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) rapid chess championship dubbed as San Juan Predators Chairman’s Cup,” ani pa G. Quizon.

Tumapos sina FM Nouri at International Master Chito Garma sa torneo ng similar 6.0 points; habang si FIDE Master Randy Segarra naman ay may 5.5 points na sinundan naman nina FIDE Master Christian Gian Karlo Arca, FM Bacojo, International Master Michael Concio Jr., National Master Edmundo Gatus, International Master Angelo Young, FM Abelgas, National Master Oscar Joseph Cantela at Kevin Arquero na may identical 5.0 points.

Mga nagwagi sa category ay sina Atty. Rodolfo Enrique Rivera (Top PWD), Arnel Ellis (Top Senior), WIM Mordido (Top Lady), NM Cantela (Top Highschool), Clord Bragais (Top Unrated) at Jason Rojo (Top 2000 and below).

Samantala ay nagkampeon si National Master Mar Aviel Carredo sa Aspirant (Under 15) division habang naghari naman si Caleb Royce Garcia sa kiddies (Under 10) category.

Ang Tournament Director ay si Coach Hubert Estrella. (MARLON BERNARDINO)
