Michael Yang ipinatatapon, 2 Pharmally officials ipinaaasunto

INIREKOMENDA ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee na pinamumunuan ni Senador Richard Gordon ang agarang deportasyon kay Michael Yang at ang pagsasampa ng kaukulang kaso kina dating Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) chief Christopher Lao, at Procurement Director Warren Rex Liong .

Ayon kay Gordon, mayroong nilabag na batas si Yang sa kanyang pagpasok ng kasunduan sa pamahalan sa paggamit ng mga pribadong kompanya.

Batay sa inilabas na partial report ng committee, nalabag ni Yang ang tax evasion law sa ilalim ng Republic Act (RA) 8424 o kilala sa tawag na National Internal Revenue Tax Code, sapat na batayan para irekomenda ang kanyang deportasyon bilang isang dayuhan.

“Despite decades of lucrative and peaceful sojourn in our country, his care is not for others who had not only been hospitable to him, but also even allowed him to amass great wealth,” batay sa nilalaman ng partial report ni Gordon.

Sinabi ni Gordon, nagpakita ng hindi magandang pag-uugali si Yang sa mga naganap na pagdinig ng senado nang siya ay dumalo.

Tinukoy ni Gordon, nabigo si Yang na aminin kung saan galing o nagmula ang perang kanyang ginagamit sa negosyo lalo sa transaksiyon o bahagi sa Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation.

Sinabing nanghiram sa kanya ng pera at naging guarantor para pagkatiwalaan ang kompanya na makapag-supply ng mga personal protective equipment (PPE).

“In fact, we discovered that in almost a quarter of a century of staying in the Philippines, conducting lucrative businesses, he started paying taxes only recently in 2018, declaring income of P288,000 for the year, and paying a measly amount of P7,600.00. Financing the Pharmally contracts was a sure way of washing his cash. He, for all intents and purposes, is the co-conductor of this horrible mess,” bahagi ng report ni Gordon.

Kaugnay nito ilan sa inirerekomendang kaso ang paglabag sa anti-graft and corrupt practices, plunder, tax evasion, at paglabag sa procurement law laban kina Lao at Liong .

“The pre-meditated plunder commences with appointing an all-in-one trusted election supporter, a bent lawyer who reports and is accountable only to the President and to no other, is plentifully corrupt, and one who has a deplorable sense of indifference to the suffering of others, to a low-profile, but which turns out to be a highly-lucrative government posting,” pagdedetalye sa ulat bilang pagtukoy kay Lao.
