‘Int’l Day of the Girl Child’ sinelebra ng PSC sa Rise up Shape up

SUMALI ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) sa selebrasyon ng United Nations (UN) para sa International Day of the Girl Child 2021 sa paghahandog ng special webisode ng Rise Up Shape Up  sa UN’s girls empowerment campaign.

Ang episode na may titulong “My Voice, Our Equal Future” ay tinalakay kung paano ang sports ay nakakapag-ambag sa kanilang pag-unlad at pagsulong

“PSC is all about strengthening the country’s sports industry and encouraging all Filipinos to aspire for sports excellence, including young girls, and we hope that Rise Up, Shape Up helps us achieve this goal,” pagpapaliwanag ni  PSC Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.

Tampok sa episode ang limang batang Filipino sports champions na nagbahagi  ng kanilang athletic journeys, lalo na sa panahon ngayon na nagiging digital na ang mga bagay.

Lumahok din sa program ang Digital Commununications expert na si Rona Joy bulaong at Cagayan State University College of Human Kinetics Assistant Professor Robin Darwin Tuliao na parehong nagbigay ng kanilang insights para higit na maintindihan ang girl athletes at matulungan silang makamtam ang kahusayan sa digital age.

Isinalarawan ni Women in Sports Commissioner Celia H. Kiram ang Rise Up, Shape Up    “as a platform that encourages girls to actively co-lead in the journey of digital transformation while practicing sports. This web series has demonstrated that it is possible to navigate through the digital realities and challenges while staying true to our commitment to supporting women and girls in sports,” sabi ni Kiram.

“We want kids watching our show to be motivated to be athletes and sports champions. We also want to reach out to parents to guide and support their children who want to be the next generation of Filipino elite athletes.” dagdag ni  Kiram na tatalakayin ang tungkol sa girl sports champions sa kanyang  “K-Isport” segment.
