INIANUNSIYO kahapon ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), magbubukas ngayong araw, 7 Hulyo, ng limang special off-site locations sa National Capital Region, base sa mataas na demand ng passport appointment slots.
Upang maibsan ang problema sa pagkuha ng passport appointment slots para sa karagdagang 177,500.
Sinabi ni Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Brigido Dulay, ang ilalagay na DFA Temporary Offsite Passport Services (TOPS) offices ay magbubukas sa SM Mall of Asia, SM City North EDSA, SM Aura, Robinsons Place, Las Piñas City at Robinsons Place Magnolia.
“The DFA is aware of the demand for passport appointment slots during the pandemic and so we prepared a temporary expansion of our consular operations in off-site locations to address this need while maintaining health and safety protocols,” ani Dulay.
Aniya, “Appointment slots for all of these five (5) TOPS may be accessed via the DFA’s online appointment system website www.passport.gov.ph.”
Sa bawat TOPS site ay may kapasidad na tumanggap ng 500 appointments kada araw, na ang operasyon ay mula Lunes hanggang Sabado.
Ang kabuuang 177,500 additional passport appointment slots ay magiging available hanggang katapusan ng Setyembre, na mabubuo ang operasyon para magserbisyo sa mga aplikante.
Sinabi ni Dulay, ang TOPS offices ay bukas rin para sa Courtesy Lane clients tulad ng OFWs na may valid o existing contracts, senior citizens, mga buntis, mga bata na ang edad ay 7-anyos pababa, persons with disabilities (PWDs) at solo parents at maaaring mag-email sa [email protected]
Maglalagay din umano ng TOPS sites ang DFA sa mga rehiyon kapag mataas ang demand sa pagkuha ng passport appointment slots.
Layunin ng DFA sa paglalagay ng TOPS sites ay upang maiwasan at huwag tangkilikin ang ilang individual o grupo na nag-aalok at nagpapabayad para sa passport appointment slots.
Pinayohan ni Dulay ang publiko na huwag paloloko sa mga ganitong uri ng modus, dahil ang appointment slots ay libre at makikita sa official website ng DFA.
“We advise applicants to avoid falling prey to online fraudsters and scammers who are taking advantage of the situation by charging hefty fees,” diin ni Dulay. (JG)
