Ebola virus sa QC itinanggi ng DoH

7ITINANGGI ng Department of Health (Doh) ang kumalat na balita sa social networking sites kaugnay sa sinasabing 18 kaso ng Ebola virus sa Quezon City.

Sa press  conference, nilinaw ni Health Acting Secretary Jannette Loreto Garin, na walang kawani ang DoH na nagngangalang Gemma Sheridan.

“The Department of Health emphatically denies the rumors on alleged 18 cases of Ebola Virus confirmed in Quezon City, that is being circulated in the social media. There is no DoH employee named Gemma Sheridan,” ayon sa health official.

Sinabi rin ng opisyal na ‘hoax’ ang website na nagpalabas na may mga kaso ng Ebola virus sa Filipinas.

“There is no truth to this report. No case of Ebola has entered the Philippines. The website where the online report was published  – Viral Ninja (safeurlpath.com), is a hoax,” aniya.

Iginiit ng opisyal, patuloy ang pagmo-monitor  ng Inter-Agency Task Force on Ebola hinggil sa napapaulat na mga kaso nito sa lahat ng apektadong lugar sa mga bansa sa West Africa.

Regular din aniya ang kanilang pagpupulong at pagbibigay ng mga kaganapan hinggil sa estado ng EVD, bukod pa rito ang pagiging alerto  ng lahat ng mga pantalan at paliparan sa bansa upang maharang ang pagpasok ng virus.

“The  Inter-Agency Task Force on Ebola consistently monitors the reported cases of Ebola Virus Disease o EVD in all affected Western African countries; regulary meets and share updates on developments of EVD; and is constantly on alert in all ports and airports to prevent entry of any suspected case of Ebola.”

Kaugnay nito, umaapela ang DoH sa publiko na huwag ikalat ang hindi kompirmado at walang batayang report lalo pa’t lilikha lamang ng takot at panganib sa buhay.

Pinayuhan din ni Garin ang publiko  na para makakuha nang tamang report ay bisitahin ang DoH official facebook page at website.

“We appeal to the public not to spread unconfirmed and baseless reports. Sowing panic and fear will only put lives in danger. For correct information about the ebola, please visit the DoH official facebook page – Department of Health (Philippines) and website –www.doh.gov.ph,” pagtatapos ng acting health chief.
