4 na ginto inuwi ng PH memory team

SUMUNGKIT ng apat na gold, anim na silver at tatlong bronze medals ang Philippine Memory Team sa Hong Kong International Memory Championships na ginanap sa Lutheran Secondary School sa Waterloo Road, Hong Kong noong Linggo.

Kinalawit ni first Filipino Grandmaster of Memory Mark Anthony Castañeda ang tatlong ginto sa Speed Cards, Historic/Future Dates at Names and Faces events.

Nasilo rin niya ang silver medal sa Spoken Numbers at bronze ang nakuha niya sa 30-Minute Binary at Speed Number.

Sinakop naman ni Grandmaster Erwin Balines ang Abstract Images upang iuwi ang gold medal kasama ang apat na silver medals sa 30-Minute Cards, Historic/Future Dates, 30-Minute Binary Digits at Names and Faces.

Nakawit rin ni Balines ang bronze sa 30-Minute Numbers at isinubi rin ang Sportsmanship Award.

Samantala, si Candidate-Grandmaster Axel Tabernilla ay nakakuha ng bronze medal sa Spoken Numbers.

Bukod sa Pilipinas kasali rin ang mga bansang Mongolia, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, India, Macau, South Korea at Canada.

Ang team ng Pilipinas ay inorganisa ng Philippine Mind Sports Association.

“The competition here was very tough, especially the Mongolians who sent a very strong team,” ani head coach Roberto Racasa,

Si Racasa ang Philippine Memory Sports at course director ng Center For Global Best Practices.

Kasama ring lumaban si Benjamin Fontanilla na lumanding sa second position overall.

Ang Team ng Pilipinas ay suportado ng Hotel Sogo, W1N INTERNATIONAL at Rotary Club of Pasig.

Ang nasabing competition ay may basbas ng World Memory Sports Council.

Nasunod sa WMSC standard ng competition ang Names and Faces (15 minutes), Binary Numbers (30 minutes), Random Numbers (30 minutes), Abstract Images (15 minutes), Speed Numbers (5 minutes), Historic/Future Dates (5 minutes), Playing Cards (10 minutes), Random Words (15 minutes), Spoken Numbers, (100 seconds, 300 seconds, and 400 seconds) at Speed Cards.
