LAST concert na ni Regine Velasquez ang Finale concert sa October 17, 18, at 19, 2026, 8:00 p.m. sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City. Pero hindi ibig sabihin, titigil sa pagkanta at pagpe-perform ang tinaguriang Asia’s Songbird.
“For major concerts yes(tigil na), but I’m not going to stop performing altogether. I will still perform siguro sa mga smaller, intimate venues,” wika ni Regine sa naganap na mediacon noong Friday, September 25 sa Super Sam sa Quezon City.
Ikinatwiran ni Regine, hindi na kakayanin ng powers niya ang mag-concert sa malalaking venue dahil na rin sa edad. Grabe nga naman kasi ang physical pressure nito ng malakihang concert
“More than anything, I can’t handle na talaga ‘yung pressure na mag-stage ng huge concerts because of everything that comes with it, you know, what it entails.
“Mahaba ang preparation kasi kailangan bongga ‘di ba, it will eat up too much of my time, my schedule, and it’s hard because I’m also a mom and wife,” sambit pa ng misis ni Ogie Alcasid.
“I am not the same singer that I used to be like 10, 20 years ago. Kasi may mga pagbabago as you age talaga. But don’t get me wrong. I could still sing. It’s just that, it’s not like before anymore,” sambit pa ni Regine.
Samantala, naibahagi rin ni Regine ang ukol sa pinagdaanan niya ukol sa kanyang boses at inaming hindi na talaga kapareho ng dati.
“I went through something like… it’s called the menopause voice. My vocal chords is actually very clean, there’s no polyp, there’s nothing, but somehow, alam mo ‘yung nagka-crack ‘yung boses ko, and somehow, I cannot control the voice,” sey pa ni Regine.
“And there was a time, parang nakalimutan kong kumanta, and I couldn’t figure out what was going on with me, but everytime I would go and see my doctor, there was nothing wrong.
“It’s a system of menopause and it’s actually devastating. Not all women experience it but sabi ni (Vicki) Belo, it apparently affects 50% of women in the absence of estrogen. ‘Yung parang kumakapal na ‘yung vocal chords, nawawala ‘yung elasticity ng vocal chords which is unique,” paliwanag ni Regs.
Sinabi ni Regine na naging dry ang kanyang boses at talagang nahirapan siyang kumanta.
“One day, I woke up and it’s just like my voice was taken away from me. I couldn’t sing, nasisintunado ako,” kuwento ni Regine.
Paglilinaw pa ni Regine, nandiyan pa rin ang boses niya pero talagang hindi na iyon katulad ng dati.
“I still have my voice, it never left, it’s just that it’s in a different form so I have to work with what I have now. I can no longer be what I used to be 10 years or 20 years ago. I can no longer sound like that.
“I still have my beautiful voice but it’s just different,” aniya.
Sa kabilang banda, sinabi pa ni Regine na, “This concert is not a farewell, it’s a thank you concert. It’s for all those that supported and loved me through the years, I just want to show my appreciation by giving them a huge concert.”
Ang FINALE concert ay kasabay din ng 40th anniversary ni Regine sa showbiz.
Ito’y magaganap da October 17, 18, at 19, 2026, 8 p.m. sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Pasay City. Ito’y ididirehe ni Paolo Valenciano, at si Raul Mitra ang musical director.
