NAKALISTA bilang bahagi ng mga witness ng prosecution team ng Kamara si ‘Mary Grace Piattos’ sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“[Mary Grace Piattos will be presented as witness] to testify on their alleged receipt of confidential funds,” saad sa pre-trial brief.
Magugunitang lumutang ang pangalang ‘Mary Grace Piattos’ sa pagdinig ng House good government and public accountability committee noong 2024 sa paggamit ng budget ng Office of the Vice President at Department of Education.
Sa mga acknowledgment receipts ng confidential fund disbursements ay nakita ang lagda sa pagtanggap ng confidential fund mula sa mga opisina ni Duterte.
Sa kabila ito ng deklarasyon ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na wala birth, death o kahit anong identification records ang pangalang ‘Mary Grace Piattos’.
Ang iba pang lumabas na pangalan sa acknowledgment receipts ay sina Xiaomi Ocho, Kokoy Villamin, Milky Secuya, at iba pa.
Sa pre-trial brief, si Piattos ay ihaharap bilang witness para sa Article 1 na nag-aakusa sa Bise Presidente ng culpable violation of the Constitution, graft and corruption, at betrayal of public trust sa maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyong halaga ng confidential funds.
Noong Pebrero, sinabi ng kampo ni Duterte na ipapaliwanag nila ang paggamit ng mga alyas para sa confidential funds katulad ng ‘Mary Grace Piattos’.
“Specifically the ‘Mary Grace Piattos’, we are ready to respond to that and explain bakit may mga ganyan,” sinabi ni Michael Poa, spokesperson ng defense team ni Duterte.
Samantala, ihaharap din na witness si dating Overall Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Carandang, para sa Article 2 na nag-aakusa naman kay Duterte ng culpable violation of the Constitution at betrayal of public trust sa hindi maipaliwanag na yaman, false entries sa kanyang Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) at patuloy na business interests.
“[Carandang will be presented as witness] to prove that he investigated the bank accounts and transactions of respondent and Rodrigo Duterte, and the result thereof,” saad sa pre-trial brief. (NIÑO ACLAN)
