SA pagkanta lang naman masasabing medyo nanahimik si Raymond Lauchengco. Hits ang mga kanta nito in the 80s.
Sa panahong ito, marami rin siyang nadiskubreng mapagkakaabalahan. Tulad ng kanyang mga bonsai.
“Unlike my other projects, this one didn’t have a happy beginning.
“You see I love plants, and when I was gifted with some bonsai trees by friends, I was ecstatic. I read up on how to care for them, shape them, and repot them.
“Watching these miniature trees thrive put a smile on my face for many years.
“One day however, one of them started to wither and shed all its leaves. I tried my best to revive it, I even consulted with bonsai god Monino S. Duque, but there was nothing that could be done to save it.
“Because It had given me so much joy, I couldn’t get myself to throw it away. Instead, I removed the roots, gave the bark and branches a chiseling here and there, and let it dry out in the sun. Then I gave it a finish to preserve it.
“It may never grow leaves again, but at least I still get to look at it’s knotty, entangled form, which I think is beautiful. Now it lives on as a table centerpiece, to always remind me that happy endings are possible, if we choose to make them so. #rlquarantinemadness.”
At may bonus pa, ha! Napapag-aralan niya na rin ang magluto. Kaya sa malapit sa areas niya, makaka-order kayo ng na-perfect niya ng Lengua!
