Aga, Bossing Vic-Vice, Maricel, Dennis magsasagupaan sa MMFF 2026

INIHAYAG na ng Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang unang apat na official entry para sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2026.
Dinaluhan ng mga organizer ng taunang filmfest sa pangunguna ni MMDA Chairman at MMFF over-all chairperson Atty. Don Artes ang announcement ng first batch ng official entries kahapon ng hapon, July 7, sa Greenhills Mall, San Juan City.
Pasok sa first four movies ang 2nd Miracle In Cell No. 7 ng Viva Films na pagbibidahan nina Aga Muhlach at Zia Rigor. Pinalawak nito ang kuwento ng 2019 Filipino adaptation bilang parehong prequel at sequel. Ididirehe ni Nuel Naval at mula sa panulat ni Mel Mendoza-del Rosario.
Napili rin ang Amir ng GMA Pictures na nagtatampok kina Dennis Trillo, Will Ashley, at Glaiza de Castro. Mula ito sa direksiyon ni Zig Dulay.
Ikatlo sa napili ang horror movie na Haunted Carnival ng Regal Entertainment na pagbibidahan nina Maricel Soriano, Julia Barretto, James Reid, at Fyang Smith.
At ang ikaapat ay ang The Greatest Showdown na nagtatampok kina Vic Sotto at Vice Ganda.
Mula ito sa Star Cinema, M-Zet Films, APT Entertainment, at IdeaFirst Production na ididirehe ni Jun Robles Lana.
Ang apat ay mula sa 26 na isinumiteng iskrip para sa 52nd MMFF.
Ani Artes nahirapan ang selection committee sa pagpili ng unang apat na lahok dahil sa mahuhusay na mga isinumiteng entry.
“Based on the 26 script entries submitted, I can say that the selection committee had a difficult time choosing the four official entries for the 52nd MMFF,” ani Artes.
Inihayag din ni Artes ang ilang inobasyon para sa pagdiriwang ngayong taon, kabilang ang pagpapalawak ng mga aktibidad sa labas ng Metro Manila.
Bukod sa San Juan at Mandaluyong na magsisilbing mga host city ngayong taon, magiging host din ang Bacolod City ng iba’t ibang aktibidades na may kaugnayan sa MMFF sa buong buwan ng Disyembre.
“We have many innovations this year. Aside from our two host cities, San Juan and Mandaluyong, we are also bringing the MMFF to Bacolod City, where we will hold various festival activities,” sabi pa ni Artes.
Inanunsyo rin ni Artes ang tinawag niyang magandang balita para sa mga manonood ng pelikulang Pilipino: Ito ang pagkakasundo ng
MMDA at Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) na magtakda ng maximum na presyo ng tiket sa sine na P299 sa panahon ng MMFF.
“The P299 is only the maximum price. Ticket prices can still go lower, especially in the provinces, depending on the decision of theater owners, CEAP and the producers,” wika ng MMDA Chair.
