ANG newbie na si Renz Tantoco ay isang actor at content creator. Ang recent projects niya ay ang ‘Runaway Love’ vertical series sa iWant at may supporting role din sa ‘Worlds Apart’ sa Star Sinemax with Elyson de Dios and Roxie Smith.
Si Renz ay isang singer din at si Direk Bobby Bonifacio Jr. ang kanyang manager.
Nabanggit ni Renz ang kanyang naging journey sa showbiz. “I started as a content creator po. From there, opportunities came one after another, including guestings, film and TV roles, theater, and promotions. That’s really how my journey in showbiz began.
“Nag-start po ako sa showbiz around 2022, pero mas naging active ako last year sa content creation, while this year mas focus ako sa film projects and guestings. Since then, tuloy-tuloy na ‘yung work and collaborations ko, both on and off cam,” sambit ni Renz
Aniya pa, “My recent projects include ‘Mutya ng Section E’ under Viva, Runaway Love, by Direk Sigrid Polon for iWantTFC, Worlds Apart directed by Direk Bobby Bonifacio, ‘Ben’s Busline’ for Regal Studio Presents on GMA directed by Bobby Bonifacio, ‘The Fake Life’ directed by Adolfo Alix Jr., ‘TOP 1’ directed by Temi Abad under Viva,
“Kasama rin po sa naging projects ko ang ‘Init’ directed by Piem Acero under Viva, and ‘Padyak Princess’ on TV5 directed by Easy Ferrer, ‘Senior High’ on ABS-CBN directed by Onat Diaz, and my latest project is ‘Sirena’ by Direk Bobby Bonifacio, under Viva. Aside from acting, I also work behind the scenes as a Production Associate.”
Game rin ba siyang magpa-sexy sa movies?
“It depends po on the project. If the role is meaningful and handled tastefully, I’m okay with it. The important thing is that it serves the story and adds depth to the character.”
Inusisa namin siya hinggil sa kanyang dream role.
Tugon ni Renz, “Gusto ko ng psychological or dark lead role, ‘yung character na may moral conflict or hidden layers. Gusto kong ma-challenge emotionally at maipakita ‘yung versatility ko as an actor hindi lang sa typical roles, kundi sa mga kakaibang kuwento.”
Ano ang wish niyang mangyari sa kanyang showbiz career?
Esplika ng guwapitong aktor, “Wish ko na mas makilala ako sa acting side ko, hindi lang as a content creator. Gusto kong makagawa ng impactful and meaningful projects, makatrabaho ang top directors and actors, at hopefully one day, makapag-represent ng Filipino talent internationally.”
