BINIGYANG-LINAW ni Senador Alan Peter Cayetano na kailanman ay hindi tinanggihan ng pamunuan ng Taguig City ang iniatras na P200 bilyong pisong Makati City subway project.
Ayon kay Cayetano, sa kanyang pagtatanong sa lungsod sa ilalim ng liderato ng kanyang asawang si Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, kailanman ay hindi kinunsulta ang lungsod sa nabanggit na proyekto.
“To clarify, I checked with city officials and there has never been a dispute from the side of Taguig. The City of Taguig never rejected the project; in fact, we (the City, and even my Senate office) were never formally consulted about it to begin with,” ani Cayetano sa isang panayam.
Nalulungkot si Cayetano na hindi na matutuloy pa ang naturang proyekto dahil umatras ang proponent nitong kontratista.
Ganoon pa man agad inilinaw ni Cayetano na bukas ang lungsod ng Taguig sa anomang uri ng proyekto na makapagbibigay ng dagdag at mas maayos na serbisyo sa mga mamamayan lao sa sektor ng transportasyon.
“Records show that the officials of Taguig and the Cayetano’s do not look at the proponents of projects, but rather the benefits that it brings to the public. Initiatives like railways and subways that improve mobility and quality of life of the people are aligned with our vision for development. We remain committed to supporting inclusive and lawful progress, and we welcome meaningful collaboration moving forward,” dagdag ni Cayetano.
Magugunitang sa proyekto ng Makati Subway, ilang bahagi ng barangay ang napunta sa Taguig dahil sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema. Kalakip nito at kasama lalo ang daraanan at ilang estasyon. (NIÑO ACLAN)
