SOBRANG ipinagmamalaki ni Direk Crisanto Aquino ang pelikula niyang Write About Love. Ito ang kanyang debut movie na official entry ng TBA Studio sa 45th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) na magsisimula sa December 25.
Isa itong kakaibang romantic comedy film starring Miles Ocampo, Rocco Nacino, Joem Bascon, at Yeng Constantino.
Saad ni Direk Cris, “Sobra po, una sa lahat mahuhusay po ang aking apat na artista, Si Yeng, Joem, Rocco, at Miles. Napakasuwerte ko sa casting. I’m very happy with their performance. And since kami lang ang entry sa MMFF na walang big stars, that’s a proof na sa pelikula talaga nag-base ang MMFF committee and that’s good indication of the quality of the film.
“Write About Love is a film of many firsts. Aside from it being my first directorial assignment, it is also the first major starrer of Miles Ocampo. I am truly grateful to TBA Studios for allowing me to write, produce and direct this beautiful film.”
Dagdag niya, ”Being selected in this year’s 2019 MMFF validates my more than 14 years in the film industry. I started as a Production Assistant and over the years I helmed my craft as a First Assistant Director. I am truly humbled and grateful to all those who supported my filmmaking journey.”
Prior to Write About Love, kilala si Direk Cris bilang most sought-after Assistant Director ng bansa na nakatrabaho na ang mga batikang directors tulad nina Chito Roño, Olivia Lamasan, Rory Quintos, Laurice Guillen, Cathy Garcia-Molina, at Jerrold Tarog ng mga pelikulang Goyo at Heneral Luna.
Since first movie niya ito, nahirapan ba siya? “Honestly, mas na-excite ako sa process. Matagal ko na kasi gustong magdirek, alam mo ‘yung sobrang excited ka na to do it finally? Ganoon ‘yung feeling. Matagal na rin kasi ako industry, from P.A., to Scriptcon to A.D., lahat ng journey na ‘yun ay inisip kong preparation to my directing.
“Kaya nang nabigyan ako ng chance ng TBA Studios to do it, sobra akong excited to finally do it. I remember Christmas of 2017, I greeted Sir Ed Rocha and thanked him for all the trust sa Luna and Goyo and he replied na kapag gusto ko na magdirek ng first film ko, sabihin ko lang sa kanya. That time may script na ako ng Write About Love. Ayun na, I pitched it to TBA bosses and nag-green light na. So thankful to them for the trust especially to Sir Ed, without that message, Write About Love will never be possible,” masayang wika ni Direk Cris.
Ang Write About Love ay may G-rating (suitable for all audiences) sa MTRCB at B-Grading sa Cinema Evaluation Board. Ang official music soundtrack ng pelikula mula kay Yeng is now out via Star Music Philippines.
