MASAYANG-MASAYA ang chairman ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) na si Liza Dino dahil dumalo ang lahat ng ahensiya, institusyon, at stakeholders na susuporta sa pagdiriwang ng Isang Daang Taon ng Pelikulang Pilipino sa isang press conference noong September 6, 2019 sa Novotel Hotel Araneta Center sa Cubao, Quezon City.
Gaganapin ang actual commemoration ng centennial sa Setyembre 12, 2019, at mamarkahan ng FDCP ang napakahalagang okasyong ito sa Sine Sandaan: Celebrating the Luminaries of Philippine Cinema sa New Frontier Theater sa Quezon City.
Bale ang Sine Sandaan ang magsisilbing kick-off sa year-long celebration para bigyang-karangalan ang glory days ng Pelikulang Pilipino,. Itinakda ang gabing ito para ipagdiwang ang legends, icons, luminaries, at unsung heroes ng Pelikulang Pilipino. Magkakaroon ng musical at entertainment extravaganza na ibibida ang journey ng Pelikulang Pilipino sa isang daan nitong taon. Ang Sine Sandaan ay co-presented ng CMB Film Services at ABS-CBN at sinusuportahan ng Department of Tourism (DOT), Araneta Group, at Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines (FDAP).
Tinatayang dadaluhan ang Sine Sandaan ng mahigit sa 300 most influential names sa Pelikulang Pilipino sa harap at likod ng camera na naging malaki ang ambag sa pagsulong ng Pelikulang Pilipino. Tampok din sa event ang moving performances na nagha-highlight ng Isang Daang Taon ng Pelikulang Pilipino para sa paggunita sa once-in-a-lifetime milestone ng local film industry. Gaganapin ito para bigyang-parangal ang pelikulang Dalagang Bukid ni Jose Nepomuceno, na itinuturing bilang pinaka-unang Filipino-produced at directed feature film.
Sa nationwide celebration na ito, nakipagtulungan ang FDCP sa ABS-CBN Network para sa coverage at broadcast ng event. ”We are truly grateful for everyone’s support and acknowledgement of Sine Sandaan, including ABS-CBN who will broadcast the event to ensure that the Filipino audiences nationwide and worldwide will get the chance to witness this once-in-a-lifetime celebration,” ani Diño. ”We are looking forward to more stakeholders as supporting not just Sine Sandaan for the next year, but the whole of Philippine Cinema. This is the chance to bring everyone together as one film industry!,” sambit pa niya.
Susundan ang pagdiriwang para sa centennial year ng Philippine Cinema ng Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2019, ang week-long exclusive screening ng Filipino genre films na siyang magbubukas para sa selebrasyon ng Sandaan. Ang PPP ay co-presented ng Frontrow International sa pakikipagtulungan kasama ng Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) at CMB Film Services. Kabilang sa major sponsors ang Fire and Ice Productions, ThinkBIT Solutions, Toronto Film School, Bicol Isarog Transport System, Inc., at Novotel Manila. Kasama naman sa media partners ang Solar Entertainment Corporation, Sinag Maynila, CNN Philippines, PUBLICITYASIA, PEP.ph, Inquirer.net, InqPOP!, and Rank Magazine.
